The human resources are organized in a systematic manner. The objective of my company is to ensure that there is a focus on division of labor, coordination and control of tasks and an exchange of information within the organization. In addition, the distribution of accountability and authority to job holders in my company.
How are these functions carried out?
- My organization is involved in making mechanical weighing machines. There is division of labor because the workers are organized in making different parts and finishing them separately before the machine is assembled on the assembly line and tested.
- There is delegation of authority; the production manager gives the authority to different supervising engineers to produce the different part in accordance to the production plan.
- There is departmentalization because several large parts of the machines like the platform and the indicators are manufactured in different departments under supervising engineers.
- The span of control of each supervisor is well defined. For example the span of control of the engineer in charge of making knives and bearing to be fitted in the machine is limited to the machine shop where the knife bearing combinations are forged.
- The coordination among different supervisors and departments so that the machines are completed on time is done by the production manager. He ensures that all the departments function according to schedule.
In my opinion my organization has optimized the use of its human resources. This is the reason why the productivity is high, the morale of the workforce is good and there is a very low rate of turnover.
